Flamingo Paperie emerges from the ashes of Phoenix Trading
Phoenix Trading closed for business back in August 2017 after an unsuccessful and costly launch into the American market place. The story of this popular British business, however, did not end there. A new, stronger business has risen from the ashes thanks to the tremendous support of its customers and the UK Greeting Card Industry as well as the undying determination of its traders and Directors. Flamingo Paperie was hatched in February 2018 by Robin Bradley, Original Founder and Art Director of Phoenix Trading and Sheila Shaw, Operations Director.
A new management team and business structure
Phoenix Trading’s most successful trader, Stuart Millar joined Robin and Sheila as Sales Director to launch the new business. Stuart was Phoenix Trading’s most successful trader. He had a team of 200 business leaders and 6000 fellow traders and a wealth of direct selling experience. The new streamlined management team has taken all of the lessons learnt from the failure of Phoenix Trading. A fabulous new business has been created that is more suited in format to the working practices of this century. There is no longer a costly head office to run with hundreds of staff. The Directors now work remotely and all of the major business functions are contracted out.
The same strong ethics
The business structure has changed but the philosophy and ethics that attracted me are still the same. Currently 100% of Flamingo Paperie’s products are designed and printed in the UK. The business continues to apply best practice to all issues that affect the environment such as sustainable paper sources, biodegradability and recycling.
The Directors can draw on Phoenix Trading’s 22 year history and the many relationships that they have established with artists and manufacturers. Thanks to this heritage, Flamingo Partners have access to some of the best greeting card artists in the business. They have a top quality and unique product range and an unrivalled earning opportunity.

Thank you for visiting my website and blog. I have been operating as a Phoenix Trader for the past 13 years and was therefore, as you can imagine, devastated when the company had to cease trading due to the failure of its International Expansion Programme.
Thankfully the Greeting Card Industry (Printers and Industry Experts) rallied round and have helped breath life back into the UK operation. On 1st February the business will relaunch as Flamingo Paperie and I have already signed up as a Pioneer Partner so that I can continue to supply you with their fabulous products.
The Flamingo Paperie business will focus on cards, wrapping paper and notecards plus, of course, our famous advent calendars at Christmas. Whilst Flamingo Paperie products will represent at least 90% of my product range. I will also offer you a small range of complimentary products under my umbrella company Sarah Loves Cards – both paper stationery and other giftables.
I will continue to fly the flag for British design and my entire range will have been designed and manufactured in the UK.
